Es war still um das irische Folk-Trio All The Luck In The World.

All The Luck In The World.

Your new song „Landmarks“ is out and I guess a lot of your fans were happy, that you stayed true to your very own folk sound. Must be exciting to release the first new tracks after such a long time, wasn’t it?

ATLITW: Yeah it’s great to have „Landmarks“ out there, we have been looking forward to sharing this track for a while. We’ve been sitting on a finished album for almost two years now, which has been frustrating at times, so it feels good to get going again.

What happened the last years? Do you needed to calm down after the success with the first record?

ATLITW: No it wasn’t a case of calming down after the first record. There were unforeseen circumstances, both for us as a band, and in our personal lives that resulted in us taking quite a long time to figure out the release of our second record. But now that we have a date set, it’s a weight off of our backs. Now we can focus fully on touring and releasing, and even working on a plan for a third record.

I’ve heard you moved to Berlin to make your new record „A Blind Arcade“, which is going to be released in February 2018. Was it inspiring for your music to be in a new place, with new people and so much to discover?

ATLITW: We did record a fair bit of this record in Berlin, but that was before we made a permanent move here. Most of the songs were written in Ireland, and also a fair bit of the recording was done in our home studio set ups there too. I guess our 3rd record will probably be written here in Berlin, and yeah that’ll be interesting.

Is there something you can tell us about „A Blind Arcade“ yet, or will the album be some kind of secret until it’s released?

ATLITW: „A Blind Arcade“ is a collection of stories, both personal and abstract, that we had been working on in 2014-2015. Beyond that, we don’t want to give too much away.

Thank you for taking your time to do this interview. Looking forward to see you in Hamburg next year!
